Tricky Rain Forecast For Today

Good morning bloggers,

A band of showers and thunderstorms was developing as I wrote this blog entry early this morning. This was around 7:30 AM, and the closest showers were way out west:

A few showers and thunderstorms may develop ahead of this area, and right now I am expecting it to be a rather quiet morning before this disturbance approaches. The area of thunderstorms that is most organized is over southern Nebraska. This area is associated with a disturbance and it is what will likely try to form into a little complex of thunderstorms that may turn southeast over KC right around the first pitch of the game between the Royals and the White Sox:

This HRRR model forecast above shows the thunderstorms right over the stadium at 3 PM. This would likely cause a rain delay for around an hour, and then they should be able to get the game in.

Here is an LRC fact:  Yesterday was our first 70 degree day since October 29th. October 29th is exactly 147 days from yesterday, and exactly on the LRC Cycle!  The most likely date for our first 70 degree day of the year using just the LRC was yesterday and it happened.

Have a great day. Follow me on twitter and Facebook for more updates.
