Good late evening bloggers,
After the hottest day of 2012 so far thunderstorms are finally heading our way. Here are the highs from today:
Thunderstorms have become widespread at nearly midnight. Let me know what you are experiencing. It’s almost hard to believe.
I will update the blog overnight.
Gary

I sure hope you’re right! The AFD mentioned some higher resolution models from earlier showed the precip dissipating as it made it to central Missouri, only to retire again tomorrow afternoon across the Ozarks and Ohio River valley.
Actually after checking the temps and anticipating the highest tempts on Wednesday it seems like there were earlier days with higher temps. Anyone?
KCI has already been 106 this year so this ties for the hottest day of the year. No 108 or 110 so far at KCI….
.20 is all i am expecting.
wow check out the gust front in front of these storms on the radar! it’s almost a full county ahead of the rain! i hope this does not mean the storms are going to go poof on us!

Been raining here in McLouth KS for about 30 minutes now, we had a small gust front come through right before it started, winds jumped up to almost 20 mph, good steady rain right now, lots of lightening and thunder, sounds great and feels great — we went and stood in it for a while
nice little popup t storm in SE Lee’s Summit
Hopefully I’m wrong, but I’m just not seeing much for the metro especially south
Oh, please. Storms are firing up as we speak. Don’t be negative just enjoy this little break. Everybody’s gonna get something.
Oh honey, let’s talk about this in the morning
funny..
I’m experiencing perfect So Cal weather. I’m staying in Rosemead and it’s been perfect, cool and cloudy in the morning, 85 in the afternoon, then nice and cool in the evening. Interesting area…if you like asian food this is the area in LA where you want to stay.
Hey Gary, I think this is the first time all summer you put the percentage of rain chance at this level and the rain is actually widespread. Usually, anything over 40% all summer had been spotty at best. Not your fault, the weather has just been oddly different this LRC, through you a curve ball real good this time. This looks like everybody between Topeka and east of KC is gonna get some relief. I hope after tonight, we don’t need to wait until the change of La Nina/El Nino and the new LRC to help us all out.
finally, rain in olathe..but will this be it? looks like all the rain west is fizzling..
.56 as of 1:34am 2 miles South of Reno. (I had to stay up for the rain!)
