Snow is rapidly increasing and heading into Kansas City. Here is a look at ESP :Live
Snowfall rates will be light to moderate. Some areas could pick up 1 to 2 inches of snow in 6 hours between 8am and 2pm before a break in the snow occurs. Let us know what you are experiencing. We would really love to see any pictures of the snow you take. You can submit them to firstname.lastname@example.org .
We might see an afternoon break before the main part of the storm arrives tonight. It will be a weakened state when it gets here, so there is a chance that most of the snow we see out of the this storm will fall during the daylight hours today. In other words, if we get a total of three inches of snow from this storm, then 2 inches of snow could fall during the day and we might get another 1/2″ to inch tonight. Here is what our in house computer projects for the total accumulation from this storm.
Because the road surface temps were above freezing, and the roads were pre-treated, streets may become slushy with some slick spots developing but it may not be as icy and slick as it was on December 20th. However, after the sun sets tonight, some slick spots could develop as more light snow moves back into the region. Bottomline be careful!
Happy New Year!
