Midnight Thunderstorms

Good morning bloggers,

Who is awake at midnight? Thunderstorms are drifting across the KC metro area tonight with lightning, thunder, and a few heavy downpours. These are not severe thunderstorms, which is a bit rare for May 9th.

Brett Anthony and Kalee Dionne will be on beginning at 4:30 AM.

Looks like they are settling in for the night. Possibility of some stream flooding?

apparently my 2 week old daughter loves the storms, as she is so wired up I can’t get her to settle down and sleep.
just like her old man, I guess…

Not much rain in the Northland overnight. A little disappointing based on how these were setting up. Hope this is not another trend of rain shifting to the south now. We are headed to 80s near 90 next week and if the spigots slow down or shutoff, the drought (which I am still not convinced is over), will come back.

That’s odd it looked like there was a line last night of heavy downpours in the northland

KCI had about 0.5″ last night and radar shows parts of platte county over an inch…

I had 1.03″ in my rain gauge from last night. Platte City.
