Marvelous May Weather for Mom

Good Saturday,

We are in for some great May weather this Mother’s day weekend as an upper level ridge dominates the weather pattern.  This will change at the end of next week and we will talk about this below.  First, let’s go through the great weather.

SATURDAY: It will be sunny with low humidity and a light south breeze as highs rise to the upper 70s.  Beautiful!

MOTHER’S DAY: It will be a dry and sunny day with highs in the low 80s.  There will be a south wind 15-25 mph with the humidity still low.

UPPER LEVEL FLOW SUNDAY: A ridge will cover the middle 1/3 of the USA, bringing our region dry and warm weather as the air sinks.

UPPER LEVEL FLOW WEDNESDAY: The ridge shifts to the eastern USA as a lead system moves out into the Plains.  This will create the chance of severe thunderstorms from the northern to western Plains.  It looks like this will stay west of our area.  We may see some remnant thunderstorms Tuesday night into early Wednesday.

UPPER LEVEL FLOW FRIDAY: The lead system moves northeast into the Great Lakes and weakens as the main trough moves into the Plains.  This is a set up for a possible severe weather outbreak in the Plains Thursday and Friday.  The details are from set and we will have to follow this closely.  It is severe weather season and we have had just one main day of severe weather, remember March 6th?

Have a great Saturday and Mother’s day weekend.
