High pressure & nice pool day

Good morning bloggers,

High pressure is settling over us today which will bring us 100% sunshine and a great day for the pool.

Pool forecast & weather time-line:

  • This morning: A nice little breeze from the north with temperatures warming into the 70s
  • This afternoon:  Sunny with light winds. High:  82°
  • Tonight:  Cumulus clouds developing and building northwest of Kansas City.
  • Friday morning:  A chance of showers and thunderstorms.

There will be a weak upper level disturbance moving over a ridge later tonight into Friday morning.  This will likely be strong enough to ignite a band of showers and thunderstorms later tonight into Friday morning. Here is the upper level flow forecast:

There is also an upper level low, a very weak one, drifting into southwest Texas today. This will turn north and move northeast  towards our area on Saturday bringing another chance of showers and thunderstorms.

We had a few showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday morning and the models didn’t even predict 0.01″ from that system.  This time the models are forecasting some rain later tonight. There will likely be a few heavy thunderstorms and if you get underneath one 1/2″ of rain or more could fall.

We will go over the details of these changes on 41 Action News today and tonight.  Have a great day and thank you for spending a few minutes of your day reading the Action Weather blog.

So if some storms make their way to the metro area, what time should we plan on them hitting? Late? Is it going to be a northern part of the metro deal or might a few form further south like Paola?

Skies are threatening to the north. Well, they look threatening, not tht skies can actually threaten. I think in a few hours north part of metro will see some moisture.

Getz better lose his job. Johnson going yard.

    Go royals.

And weather from north just skirted on by.
