Yes, I'm concerned about the summer situation too, my gut is telling me it's going to be like Texas/Oklahoma was last year..nasty hot and dry. I've already moved my mow height up a notch. I'm on 5 acres so there's no way to water, not much I can do except watch it die

Gary,
I first want to say that I loved how Stormy kept walking across the set the other day. That really made me smile. What a great dog. Also, please keep the hot weather and no rain at least until Sat. the 26th. Schlitterbahn is opening for season pass holders on friday and I need it to be nice and hot!!!

Gary, Will we have too much cloud cover on Sunday to see the Solar Eclipse? We are supposed to be able to see a portion of it, late in the day near 1:25 Universal Time (around sunset)

I met Cesar, the Dog Whisperer. He was here for an event and we did a segment with him on 41 Action News. He gave us some great ideas for Breezy. I will have to find the segment.

Yes, they get shaved every year and their coat grows back full. I get them shaved again in June, then one more time in August. They seem to love it, less fur to shed and it all grows back! Breezy is likely around 75% German Shepard. She is a great dog, but with that trait.

BTW, I laugh at your occasional sunrise / sunset dog photos Gary. I am guilty of doing the same with my dogs about 5 years ago for this photo which I so conveniently display!

We have had similar issues with some of our dogs but not all. They are such individuals I have learned as I have raised them all the same and some just do better with people than others. Learned bad habits seem hard to break but I am having some results after watching Cesar a lot. I seem to remember you met him Gary? Was it a bit on 41, or on one of Cesar's shows, or just a personal visit? Be fun to watch if it is available!

"Am I the only one is concerned about a long dry and hot summer?????"

No, I am expecting that will happen! Of course, I want to be wrong but I think the dry spells will be just as long as the previous stretches with the LRC this year. I hate being on the losing end of such close high rainfall amounts (I'm referring to just 5-20 miles away) but odds are everything will average out. Where are all the MCS?!?!?

As for city water use, consider yourself a little luckier than me. I have to haul water out here to the farm from the city if I want to water the trees or water seeded areas in the yard. We even use the water from our AC drain tube. On humid days in the past we can collect well over 5 gallons in a day if we happen to be home with the AC on. That is poured sparingly onto trees and flowers around the yard and helps.

Gary, Breezy resembles a German Shepard, they are very protective dogs, almost too protective I have 2 of them myself, both rescued from kansas city's animal shelter. They never seem to grow out of that trait. I noticed in the picture they look shaved? Does their hair ever grow back? I was told not to shave mine, but I get tired of brushing them this time of the year.
