A Wet Storm Is Developing

Good evening bloggers,

A very strong and wet storm is developing.  Excessive rainfall is likely over parts of Missouri. In Kansas City we will be paying very close attention to how this sets up on Saturday as KC is on the northwestern edge of this system. Late this Friday afternoon we had a cold front just inching its way across the KC metro area. It has actually been drifting south between KCI Airport and downtown for three hours already, so it is almost stalled. It will push through overnight and this front will line up to our southeast and be one of the important features to monitor.

As you can see, this is going to be a wet storm. We can expect anywhere from 1″ on the low end to over 5″ off to the southeast by three counties. This area may very well shift northwest. One model has this closer to KC. I will go over the details on 41 Action News and Jeff Penner will update the blog in the morning.
