A few morning showers fell mainly north and west of downtown KC, the result:
A trace of rain at KCI and downtown
0.1″ of rain in Manhattan
around 1/4″ in St. Jo.
through 11am.
Another batch of rain will be progressing through the viewing area into the early afternoon. It is shown by the red blob north of Topeka from the picture below taken at 10:45am.

While these will track mainly north of KC, there’s chance these, too, could drop some scattered rain over the metro into the early afternoon. Lingering cloud cover and nearby rain may keep temperatures cooler than the forecast high of 92 today, so we’ll watch.
Tomorrow’s our heat advisory, our forecast Highs of 102°…
would make tomorrow the hottest day so far this year. Do you think this would be the hottest day of the entire year? Likely not. Last year we hit 107 at KCI and 111 in Olathe in early August! I’d say “stay cool,” but if you’re reading this blog, you already are pretty cool, right?

Can you believe it? After 2.5 months and so much work, we’ll have a 2 hour special tomorrow 10am-12pm. You’ll meet some of the children helped by St. Jude, some of the people that donated materials for the dream home, and the whole weather team will be at the house live! We’ll end just before noon with a live giveaway of the dream home! It’s a great TV moment!

So I am not loosing it, I am hearing thunder! Not very often, but thunder for sure here in Lee’s Summit. No rain though
Raining in Cameron!
Sounds like round 2 is about to reach us here. First round only lasted about 10-15 minutes and just a trace amount in the gauge but I’ll take it! Second round looks more promising!
Wow. Where did this rain come from? Seems the weather team missed it completely. Didn’t see it anywhere in yesterday’s blogs. Looks like it could be back-building. Maybe it will make it to the south side of KC today. Looks like a nice rain event at the official station at KCI.
Somehow I have my doubts about it being 102 on Sunday.
Sorry, George, I don’t follow tweets. You did mention a very small chance of am rain.

How hot do you think it will be in Olathe sunday
No rain, just cloudy in Lee’s Summit.
Unbelievable…just had a thunderstorm roll through at I-29/Barry Rd. 69 degrees at 1:15 PM!
No rain for us in Brookside unfortunately, but happy it’s only 80˚ instead of 92!! Now if tomorrow could just end up cooler as well, I’d be real happy!!!
